use a medium format with a waist level view finder. most people will think you are looking at your feet. the disadvantage is that you get the best shots by just standing somewhere and waiting for the shot to come to you.

SHOOT FROM THE HIP. DON’T USE THE VIEW FINDER , DON’T COMPOSE THE PHOTO. YOU WILL LEARN TO AIM BY FEEL. SOME OF MY BEST CANDID PHOTOS WERE DONE THIS WAY. YOU WILL MISS SOME BUT KEEP IT UP AND YOU WILL GET SOME PHOTOS THAT YOU WILL WONDER WHO SHOT THAT ONE? ENJOY LIFE.

Not everyone shoots candids digtally, and reasons I might miss a shot because I shoot film may be different ones than if I shot digital, but it doesn't mean each has drawbacks. Since I went film I shoot less AND have more shots that I like.
