I know that every photography forum seems to have a cat thread, but I never get tired of seeing the cats. A feral mother cat just brought her kittens around my house this morning so I will probably have a few photos to share, besides the ones of my pets. Lets see some cat photos!

Everybody has their thing. lol Here are 2 of Scara’s babies from this morning. She has a couple more but they aren’t as outgoing. I had to use a telephoto lens after they saw me, which was hard with nothing but coffee in my system. Lots of blurry photos. š

@pixl: I feed the ferals. The bowl is usually on my patio. I just put it out there this morning when I saw them.
This morning, my husband called me into the bathroom where the mother somehow ended up. She freaked out and tried to climb the wall when I opened the door. I have a nice scratch from her little freakout. lol. She probably came in with Smokey. Smokey is her older brother who I rescued a couple years ago. I also rescued her last litter and am stuck with 3 of those kittens. The neighbor took 1.
I am currently waiting for traps so we can TNR the cats before it gets out of hand. The feral kittens don’t last long out here because of traffic, mean people, and dogs. š

Smokey great name and great capture of him here! It’s commendable that you help care for strays and have even taken some in. You must really love animals/cats. They’re lucky to have you. Keep photographing them, you’re really good at it!

I spotted the most striking photo of a cat that I have ever seen today. It was a close up of the cats eye and one ear, against a black background. It was a private photo, so I cannot show you. The cats eye was in colour, the balance in black and white, with the fine detail of the cats hair. I think it has to be one of the most stunning shots I have ever seen.

I need to practice that too! It’s not easy to keep the focus sharp when he’s on the move. I have been trying to get some advice on how to capture him in clear focus when he’s running…especially towards me. I use AI Servo mode and a fast shutter speed…but it’s not that easy. If anyone has suggestions, I’d love to hear them. I really want to catch him in a full leap…suspended above the earth…it’s so awesome to watch him fly! š

A late March snowstorm gave me one last chance to take photos of Cisco in the snow. Next month we are moving to Florida and this “kitten” will never see snow again!

As for the photo I took this of our kitten who never stops moving unless he is asleep. trying to get a good shot of his eyes open is soooooo challenging. This is my best attempt so far.

What a cutie @cadmium-dreams! I really like the monochrome one.
I use flickr to host my photos because I am too lazy to resize photos for here and one can see the larger sizes when they click it. I just copy and paste the htmls into the post and it is done. I do not know how to do it with the photos from the albums in this site.
It doesn’t bother me if you have multiple posts. Maybe it will make you want to write more about the cats too. š

This is Bob. He is a feral kitten that comes through the fence from next door. He was in such sad shape that I gave him iron supplements for a while. His little tongue was nearly white on account of anemia. His brother fell into a bucket of paint this morning that seems to have the top rusted off. I did not get photos of him yet. I washed him off but I hope he will be OK. I get attached to these poor babies. They have it so rough.

I am too scared to try to figure flicker out also. maybe when I get this one down I will check out flicker. There was a gecko on my bedroom ceiling.
Gremlin saw it first, told the other cats and 2 of her 3 cousins joined her to balance on the headboard. Unfortunately, the flash did not fire when all 3 were looking. The RAW file was nearly black, so I am glad I shoot in RAW. I could have had nothing for the first or last photo.
