Allows Edits? YesI have not been out shooting much lately so I took this time to go back an look at some of my older photos I had . This image is of Kings Canyon in California taken 10 years ago during our Honeymoon on a Point and shoot Olympus D50. I have always liked the color image but it seemed washed out and manipulation never helped it looked right until I converted it to B&W. I now absolutely love it. So what are some of your rediscovery success stories.

Allows Edits? Yes@mdhs1675 – Wow that photo was made for black and white.
To be honest, I have been experiencing massive shooters block for months. I have been tinkering with my phone camera. But I am starting to feel a real shooting spree coming on soon.
Luckily that’s in time for my pending trip to New Zealand. đŸ™‚

Allows Edits? Yes@robbin, I use Corel Paint shop Pro X6 64 bit as my post processing. I wish I could tell you a specific sequence of steps but I primarily did it manually. Once I have the photo opened in this particular program when you switch a photo to B&W it allows you to control the gray scale emphasis of the RED, blue and green hues as well as the b brightness for each. So basically I played around until i found the look I wanted then increased the tone mapping to make it pop. I also increased the clarity to it’s max levels but this this process left the clouds and sky very grainy so I had to blur the sky a little bit to get the final image. Hope that answers your question at least a little bit. I apologize that I can not tell you more specific parameters. Good luck with your conversions and happy shooting.
