        Hi All,

I started my journey with photography in and about 1969 when I got a gift of a Petri 35mm rangefinder camera and spent the summer with it on foot in Amsterdam.

Since then I graduated to a Minolta SRT 101 and several lenses while in the US Coast Guard, followed by a fallow period while a family was raised.

I’m recently back w/ a mirrorless and a few of my old lenses with adapters.

The work that inspired me? Edward Weston, Ansel Adams I suppose, although I recall being driven crazy since I was trying to produce images like theirs with the wrong equipment.

Hi; Sounds like we have gone down similar paths. I bought a 35mm Petri and a 200m lens back in 1968 when I was in the U.S.Coast Guard. I’ve always been interested in photography but like you, raising a family put it on the back burner til recently when I retired. I now have a Sony a58 and enjoy capturing landscapes and wildlife.
