We all have those shots of empty park benches, picnic tables, cafe seats…let’s see your creativity!
Is it a public place? Is it private? Is it lonely? Is it full of potential? Would you sit there? What’s your best angle? Can you show us a different perspective?
I’ll start…this shot was taken in Shreveport…In a quiet little park…I’d like to think it is a favorite spot of an elderly couple, they’ve been going to this same spot for the last twenty-something years to discuss life, death, and everything in-between…

Not sure anyone would want to sit on this one…but I do have a photo of my son (the monk) in his orange robes sitting out there while the snow was falling…for a very few minutes…just for a photo…I might share that one in another post. But here is my empty bench in the backyard.

Thanks @catz and @riteshsaini. It’s nice when you don’t have to to travel farther than your own backyard to find a good seat. 🙂

This is a great image, Stewart…the shadow and light is intriguing. I’d love to be able to see a larger version of this to check out the detail. Clicking on it doesn’t bring me anywhere to see that. @redman

I love this series too @karamen … and I can relate. I think I’ve taken a photo of the empty bench in my backyard in just about every weather and season imaginable. When something close to home strikes you as a good image…you are just drawn back to it, time after time…and you know it will never be the same picture. 🙂

I tend to take things slowly. B&W is sort of a passion with me. Yet landscapes are what I like most which I have not found a way to use B&W with them. Especially the ones I take out here because the colors are so vibrant that B&W mutes your images. Or at least my images, Ansel Adams had no problem did he? I live in the western US by the way.

Really nice shot @nikon-nut, the b&w creates a lovely mood to this image!

OK, I managed to upload the photo but how/where do I include text with it? I’m clearly a newbie here!
The photo was taken in Key West while just driving around. I shot it in color and then did post processing in PS and Nik. I’m also a newbie to Nik so please be patient with me.

Thanks for encouraging @catz! Will try to post more. I have a better shot of this bench in larger perspective, but its on my main computer which has broken down trying to recover it days. This one I found in my online posts and thought that I shall share it with the theme.

Room for more by crystal on Light Stalking
My photo is not as amazing as some of the others in this group I still wanted to share. It is the only photo i have taken of an empty (well almost empty) bench. This little baby bird just fledged his nest and happened to land on the bench.

Abstract seats by Claudia on Light Stalking
I just loved the repetition – if I had a chance to revisit, I would probably try to have one of the seats put down, but I’m not sure if that’s even possible with no one on it
