Hello everyone

I am a photography enthusiast and/or hobbyist. I first got interested in photography in my mid teens shooting, developing and printing black and white. I don’t recall what my first camera was other than a hand-me-down from my father. My first darkroom was our second bathroom and a borrowed enlarger from a kid across the street. I wandered in and out it, to different degrees, over the years depending on how much extra time or money I had to devote to it.
I bought my first digital camera, a Pentax K10D, in March of 2008 and have been more focused on it (no pun intended) since then. I have continued to upgrade cameras and acquire more and better quality lenses, and trying to learn more about composition and lighting and post processing.
I have about a year until I retire so spare time is still in short supply. But when I do have some I spend it shooting or processing or learning more about shooting and processing.
Looking forward to learning and growing my photography skills here and if I can, help others to do the same.

Oh, the joy of retirement and letting yourself get really involved in photography. I have, and I’m learning so much, including right here in the Shark Tank. I’ve met new friends, found a reason to get out, and improved my skills enormously.

Out of curiosity @oddscholar, can you tell me how/why you think you are benefitting? What you would improve about it? Or change?

Always interested in feedback from folks who are in the thick of it 🙂
