I’m Kathy and I love photography as a hobby. I’ve sold a few photos at festivals and small art shows but just a beginner. I love finding the beauty in nature that’s not the obvious. I’m always amazed at the beauty I find in the most unusual places. I’m a social worker/therapist by trade and find photography to be a great way to de-stress and find the good things in life after hearing the not so good things all day long. I love to laugh and enjoy outside, music, reading and of course photography. I use a Nikon D5100 and an Olympus EM 5, my new toy! Nice to meet everyone! I’m excited about being here.

Welcome to LightStalking, Kathy! I have an Olympus EM 5 toy, also. I loved it so much I graduated up to the EM 1. They are so light I can carry two camera bodies. Congratulations on selling photos. There is a continuum to be a photographer and I think that includes printing and sharing photos. In addition to our critique forum, SharkTank, we have non-critique forums such as the Landscape Forum, the challenges and, my favorite, Mobile Monday. This week’s challenge is “Music to My Heart”. It is a challenge to go out and photograph over the weekend, but many members, like me, post photos taken in the past. It would be a great start for you on LightStalking to post a photo that makes your heart sing on the Challenge.

Welcome! I am a hobbyist like you, and have sold a few photos, but mainly just enjoy capturing moment and challenging myself to try new things. I’m a college professor by trade and secret photography daydreamer at other times.
The shark tank is a lot of fun, and the weekend challenges are great for focus. Its like having a photography assignment. Everyone is really great here, and the critiques really help.
