It makes working on RAW withing GiMP possible. You don't have to convert the images to JPEG to work on GiMP. Just open them in UFRAW and then by just click of a button the image will be opened in GiMP in RAW format only. I have been using it for past 2yrs now. It's very good. The second one lets you upload photos directly in Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket, Picasa, etc. <a href="http://photobatch.stani.be" rel="nofollow">Phatch</a> is very useful for batch image processing under Linux without programming (for example, for include watermarks in all your photographies).
