    Hello everybody :)!

I’m going to publish some pictures about medieval-renaissance architecture of Alcalá de Henares, in Madrid, Spain (I’m not an expert in History/Architecture, sorry if there are some errors).

    Holy Grotesque
    From collection “Dark City

Other views from the same place:

    Santas rejas

    Magistral

    Other important local buildings:

    La Iglesia (a lo Marsden)
    Church of Jesuits

    La Verdadera Universidad Complutense
    Alcalá College

    I hope you enjoy :)!

I love these shots!!! Thank you for posting them. I actually went to graduate school in Alcala de Henares for a year and your photos brought back very nice memories. I love your technique as well. Very powerful.
Cervantes was born in Alcala and I would dare to say that he probably would have loved your work. :)

Fantástico. Su interpretación de los edificios es muy conmovedor. Estos son más que las fotos sólo arquitectónico. Más, más, más.

@keka Hahaha, I don’t know if Cervantes would like my work :p!, but thank you very much :)! I’ve always lived here and I love this city :)!

@tomdinning Muchas gracias :)! Can you speak Spanish :)? Or do you use Google Translate? In these forums Google Translate is my most appreciated tool :p!

Thank you :)! Now I try no use too much post-processing…

@tersha Thanks :)! Actually these photos are old. I’ve changed my style since then… I hope improve it with time :)!

Muy buen trabajo Astaroth! El procesado fuerte le viene de lujo para la piedra….

  • Avatar Image astaroth said 11 months ago:

Muchas gracias @olivares :)! Como he dicho, ahora intento no abusar del post-procesado… pero quizá es verdad que para la piedra queda bien :)! Un saludo!

The texture does show up rather well in the stone work. The HDR seems to suit that sort of processing. Toad gets a similar effect with his HDR as well. MAybe we can have some instruction from @astaroth and @toadhollow on how to do it.
Meanwhile, I’ll go back and practise my Spanish. Its a bit rusty.

  • Avatar Image astaroth said 11 months ago:

Oh no, @tomdinning! I don’t want say that! Your Spanish is good! It’s much better than my English :p!

    For this pic:

I used Qtpfsgui (or Luminance HDR). I like this software, Is easy to process pics like this with it.

For the others, I think I simply tried to mix randomly layers in Gimp :p.
