Love the composition how the lines lead to the bird. A few blown out highlights on the right are a bit distracting, but I like the shot overall.Check It Out

@tersha, nah it’s my friends bike. I shot it in his driveway against a red brick wall at night. Its a composite of about 15 shots i took hand strobing each part of the bike. I took about 80 shots and used the ones i wanted. The watermark was a last minute thing before i posted it. Think i’ll go back and change it to a graffiti font ;)Check It Out

@annehong and @blacksilver – When you are on one of those pages that thinks you are logged out, do a hard refresh (shift + refresh) and it should sort it out.Check It Out

No probs. When you start with ghosting, you start seeing it everywhere. ;)Check It Out

@lunac73 Solid shot. If I were being picky, I’d say something about the largest hay-roll and largest tree unbalancing the composition a little, but that is being really picky.

Saturation is kind of down to personal taste. I’d dial it back a bit, but others might turn it up.Check It Out

When you have backlighting (like that behind the man) then sometimes you need to fire a flash to get enough light onto the face of the subject. Check It Out

Yeah, the distortion that is caused by the lens.

Generally, you want to keep straight lines straight.

Unless you purposely want to bend them. If that makes sense. ;)Check It Out

I find the post production a bit distracting. If you are trying to draw attention to the face, then it only serves to draw attention away from it.Check It Out

Cool, lets run through a basic non destructive edit. (you can reselect our layered adjustments and tweek it to suit you later on)
Open image, name & save to desktop as a new file (so you can keep original safe)
Main menu/Image: Auto tone (this will improve the white balance and we will tweek it next for some pop)

    Main menu/Filter: Reduce…[Read more]

@caimi initially I had a Pentax K-r after a photographer friend of mine recommended the Pentax brand and it had some good reviews over a similar spec Nikon, obviously I bought lenses so I’m pretty much tied to the brand. Having said that the K-3 has had some really good reviews and I think Pentax are starting to compete with Canon and Nikon up to…[Read more]

Secret GardensAfter the death of my K-r I spent a month without a camera while I waited for it to be repaired, sadly repair was impossible so with the help of a little insurance money I’ve upgraded myself to the Pentax K-3. The shots below are my test shots taken in my garden using an older Sigma 70-300 “macro” lens
