Hi All, Happy Friday !! Nothing unusual other than having the flash off camera on a ttl cord. Settings were Aperture Priority (to save me having to mess with the flash settings manually) at f20 for a larger DOF. Handheld with the flash in one hand and the camera in the other. Kit wise these [...]

Of the many attempts at capturing macro shots of things that move, the onlt successful one I’ve kept was this chap who was happy to pose for mewhilst on Holiday in Cyprus earlier this year. Given that this particular flavour is generally found in Portugal or Spain I’m surmising that this one was either a [...]

@tomdinning I think sir that the self portraits I posted a while ago were more than enough for the members here. As I recall the topless nature of them may have been a contributory factor to the global increase in migranes. I’m sorry to admit also that most of my friends are indeed ugly as well. [...]

Hi all,
Been away for a bit. Went through a bit of a photographic barren spell whereupon the camera was just being carried around for excercise rather than being used. Had a break in Cyprus, and along with the obligatory family snaps, managed to sneak in a few \’proper\’ photos as well. Found this chap on the wall outside out…[Read more] -

@tomdinning – I think you could be on to something there. Been wondering about the odd looks I get from the fairer sex for some time now. It’s either that or I’m on the cusp of that age where you become completely invisible to them. No scanning no rejection, nada. Been looking forward to that birthday [...]

@tomdinning Tom, my apologies, I completely forgot about Christine. Thankfully the Canon will help, but you might wish to mention that I puff like an old train, leak far too frequently and the bits removed in post would save a few whales if anyone decided to make candles from them. I will however try and remain [...]

As I have very few friends and my colleagues avoid me where possible, I often find myself bored and alone in hotel rooms. I’m also convinced Mrs Dave relishes these days as she can navigate the house without tripping over or moving all my kit. I also have a slight aversion to razors and t-shirts. [...]

@tomdinning – Tom, I always look forward to reading your posts as they’re always informative and thought provoking. Many thanks for taking the time to respond to my image. It’s interesting that you mentioned ‘not knowing what’s going on behind’ as this shot was what I consider to be an extremely lucky one. Had I not [...]

Can’t tell you how much food for thought I’ve got out of this thread. Suffice to say that I’ve spent so long reading through it that I’ve actually missed lunch and am now a little peckish to say the least. That aside it prompted me to re-visit a couple of my archive shots and I’d [...]
