Hello everyone! Glad to be here. I’m just getting back into photography after a hiatus of a few years. I’m currently enrolled in the NYIP complete course and I’ve also recently done Jim Hamel’s course on night photography on DPS, which was very good indeed.
I first got into photography in high school in the 80s, shooting Tri-X on a Pentax Asahi. Fast forward another 20 years and my wife bought me a Canon 20D for Christmas. This past holiday I finally upgraded to an 80D.
I enjoy landscape and travel photography and, since Jim’s course, night photography as well. I’m also the photographer for my local volunteer fire department, so I’m getting into portraits, photojournalism, and shooting apparatus as well.
I live just outside Washington DC with my wife and daughter. I work in IT as my day job and volunteer with a few public safety-oriented organizations when I’m not out taking pictures.
