How about something in a tea cup (or mug) – either close up like mine or part of a still life set up, my fav genre ….. I don't get out much. Lol!

not sure now if ‘throwdown' means photography of a more casual nature or not ?

Amazing what art some people create in cups! I'd refuse to drink it! 🙂

I know! It is a shame. But, I drank it anyway. When the barista is good at the design aspect- they can crank them out in seconds. This Barista was amazing, and the coffee was to die for.

I have to credit my wife with that idea. She is a creating machine! She never ceases to amaze me.

Ah – like it Kent ! Shame to spoil the design by drinking it ….????????

True enough. Although, every time we go here the Barista makes a perfect decorative image every time. She's quite talented.

Well, all I can say is hats off to you as still life photographer Eileen.  I practically went nuts trying to photograph a cup. I now understand why product photography is such an art and why Ken awarded the POTW to @frogdaily!  So many challenges.  Shadows, reflections, spots of froth on the cup, froth going flat and no longer looking fresh because you don't know what you're doing and taking ages etc., etc., etc.   But I can see that persisting at this would definitely be a way to improve technically and artistically. Congratulations on your sharp, beautiful image.

Yep, throwdowns are of casual nature Eileen – a friendly ‘challenge' to see what others have on the same theme.

Love the teddy in cup shot!

Fun idea, Eileen! Great shots. There is something very soothing about photos of warm beverages. I have an oldie from a couple of years ago when I was learning how to get the most out of my flash. I will make it my challenge to get a new teacup shot soon. But in the meantime…

What a lovely idea, Eileen.  And wonderful images I've enjoyed.   Here is one of several demitasse cups my great aunt Jennie Bain painted in 1896 (she dated it).
