I am 89 years old and still suffering from treatment for tonsil cancer which has moved to my lung. I am fed by a stomach tube as I cannot eat or drink. My life is at 20% but I am surviving. As my mobility is restricted I have turned to flower and macro photography which I am enjoying a great deal. I started with my dad’s Voigtlander camera with 7.7 aperture in 1943. It was great to take pictures of my friends. I remember a spectacular sunset in Bombay where I lived. I progressed to various cameras which my friends lent me including Leica and Contax. I started to do my own processing and enlarging in my bathroom converted for the purpose. I was soon into colour and had great fun trying to develop film. My great claim to fame is taking Henri Cartier Bresson round Bombay, because I was the only French speaking (very poorly) in my camera club. In 1953 on my way to UK  I bought a Rolleicord in Aden. Subsequently it was Nikon film cameras all the way. Whilst doing my Ph.D in Biochemistry I had my own darkroom and I started processing colour film and prints. I then got very interested in video. DSLR at that time were unaffordabel. When the prices grew more sensible I started with Nikon D40,then D300, and now D800 a super camera. I love Photoshop and photography keeps me busy.
