    Robert, I really like your cacti. You must have an incredible garden, with all these varieties of cacti. The Simpson’s Ball Cactus, almost disappears into the landscape. The texture of the background, really helps make this an interesting image. The Jumping Cholla Cactus looks like such a happy cactus, in particular, the little flowers and the bright green colour. I really like these. Thank you.

    Robert, two more incredible images. I love the colour of the flower against the green of the skin, with the white to brown of the needles. The hairy cactus is phenomenal! I have never seen anything like that. The yellowish orange against the green is beautiful. Then you have the smaller cactus that has some whitish hair, which is also gorgeous. Thank you.

    The First three shots are, got no idea on the hairy cactuses, can’t even find them on the internet. They were planted in a zero scaped garden.

    Works for me Graham, looks like a type of agave or yukka which is commonly mistaken for a cactus by most, we have those growing wild by the thousands around here.

    Thistles are wonderful subjects. Graham, your image is particularly interesting. Especially the title. The background of yellows and whites are just righ, and the sharp detail of the thistle in front, is perfect. Very nice Graham.

      Thank you Horatio. These things are everywhere at the moment. I pulled over in my car to take some shots of horses close to the road in a paddock. Ended up deleting every shot. Need to think things through next time and take some different lenses with me. But…you never know what going to come out of every excursion. I was about to leave when I looked to my left and noticed these thistles so took some pics and ended up with a keeper. Its that unexpected discovery aspect of photography that I love.
