    No doubt that the ‘perfect' bird portrait pose (or perch) has a place. The one where the bird is sitting on the only single branch in the image with a perfect, soft background. Now and again though I like to show a little more about the bird's living environment and no effort is spent on removing any branches or other natural objects. Specially if the bird's colors separate it well enough from its surroundings:
