Lets go the opposite of minimalism …… fill the image with lots of one, two or similar things … people, flowers, trees etc., anything at all!
Or, people being busy, at work, etc.

Great shot. No mistaking the focal point of this image. Seeing the two “slackers” in the back made me smile as one of them probably would have been me. 🙂

Dave, one of those “slackers” is a teacher (there were about 6 of us in the room) but we try no to interfere with the process.

No disrespect intended. 🙂 When I noticed the two in the back I thought yea, that would probably be me. In the back, my attention focused on anything BUT what I was supposed to be focusing on. 🙂

wonderful and thought provoking….i went straight to thinking there was about to be a prayer, but no way in the education world…so it interests me that it looks that way

      ***education is my religion***vibes

also immediately noted the lack of males, also interesting!

would you share what they are looking at please. I feel like it might have to do with abused children? some look like tearing up or shocked, maybe even in pain a bit.

Thanks for all of your comments and questions.
These are basically post graduate students who are in shock. They've just been told to put away their pens & notebooks and move all of the tables they were sitting behind to the side. Here's what they looked like waiting for class to start:

And here is what they were gathered around (image from a different year). a table with crayons, pictures, odds and ends of cord, etc – basically any “junk” we managed to gather over the years. They can work with it make something that presents them and will become part of a “patchwork” representation of the whole group remaining on the wall most of the year.

Thank you, guys. You are all too kind. I think that all of us having to create memorable photographs or any type of artwork is in our DNA. We crave trying to be creative with whatever skills we have. I am still a rank amateur at this, even though I have been taking photographs since high school. Yesterday was my 61st birthday! Yay, for getting old! Keep up the good work, everyone!

She has a regal presence. But the turned-around backpack adds a touch of reality. Wondering what the people under the “end of the trail” sing are looking at. Almost seems like the sun is leading her away from whatever is going on. Cool shot with lots of little mysteries. Good catch, Kent.

Thank you all for the kind words. Believe it or not, we were on a road trip through the Texas hill country in the spring and the flowers were unbelievably prolific. Stopping for gas, I got out of the car to use the ladies facilities and this is the scene that met me as I rounded the corner of the building. This is an empty lot, next to gas station, surrounded by concrete, in the middle of nowhere.

The color was just so joyous, I had to capture it!

Realized I don't have many “busy”shots…perhaps I am a minimalist at heart? I did get to our city's Country Christmas Parade on Friday night and came home with a few images – some busier than others.

This shot was made busier by the falling rain/snow and the appearance of the firefighter in the left of the frame. She stopped when she saw the camera and froze nicely (thinking she was out of the frame).

Definitely busy and likely more so when little kiddos are climbing all over it.

Great contrast between the fast walkers (or are they dancers?) and the woman meditating.

A number of times last summer I tried to get a good shot of a bird throwing off water in the bird bath. Never did get one I was real happy with. I like this one.

      Great image Diane.
The bird looks a little peeved that you invaded his/her private time. Was there singing in the bathtub also?

Love this abstract. Blues and yellows with hints of oranges and reds and the angular mosaics. Love it

Very organized busyness, David. I like the juxtaposition of the piles of colorful vegetables and the single person standing among them.
