Allows Edits? YesSo this photo looks very much like one I have seen before. I have been trying to place it and then it took me a while to track it down. Then I see your title on Flikr.
Marie Laveau , a painting hanging in the Marie Laveau Museum in Louisiana.
We’re you trying to go for the look or is it just a little creepy.-

WHAT? Wait a minute! This is a painting hanging in this museum? I created this shot of Clarisa back in 2009. I wonder if she used it to create her painting? Did you find that image online? I’d love to see it. That’s the exact same picture. They just changed the structure of the face a little bit. I’ve been to that museum a couple years ago. When did you see it there.

Allows Edits? YesI scanned this from a film negative of some photos I shot on a trip to Louisiana in the Early nineties. I had a girl friend from there that was a HUGE Vodoo buff , as in really fascinated by it, and she took me to all these different museums around New Orleans and Lake Pontchartrain. When we broke up she left her children, dog, and several cats at my house and went back to Louisiana alone to join a coven, her mother had to drive up from Baton Rouge to get her grandchildren.
I don’t remember which museum or town it was in. I tried doing a search google for this image but this particular one, or yours, didn’t show up. It was supposed to depict a young Marie Laveau during a Vodoo ceremony, as I remember.

You took this in the early 90s? Whoa! Now, that is some freaky shit! The hair is an exact match. You’re pulling my leg! Aren’t you Robert?

Clarisa is going full nitro with her Internet research skills. She wrote the museum in New Orleans yesterday. I’ll let you know if we find out anything.

Kent, your beautiful wife looks like she should be advertising a horror or zombie movie. It is a great image, but not for the purpose you intended. But, the similarity to the image shot at the Museum in Louisiana, of Marie Laveau, looks far too eerie!!!

Nice puppet warp Robert. Should have changed a few hairs on her nose and forehead though. Looks like fake news to me Kent. LOL

Allows Edits? YesRight click on photo and open image in a new tab, download to your pc, open it in lightroom and read the meta data, cant fake that. the scan dosen’t have any, but the photo of the negs does. Besides Rob, I don’t have time for a prank right now, still working 60 hour weeks and everything I am posting is from the cell phone, then to just top things off due to a lightning strike I lost the mother board and damaged the hard drive on my pc and its been in the shop for a couple of weeks now, thank god I backed everything up to Adobe creative cloud.
Totally understand your skepticism though. it is really quite unbelievable. When I get the pc back and have some time I want to overlay the two and see just how close they really are, because visually they look identical in certain aspects, the hair over the face and the eye especially.

All I can tell you Robert is that I did superimpose one over the other and they had to have originated as the same image at some point. Not just the hairs over the nose and face are identical. The number and placement of skin blotches on the chin, eye lashes and cracks in the lips all match up. The upper lip and nose width have been altered and the hair has been widened/stretched but those still maintain the same details only squished or stretched. Somebody is playing pranks. When you get time to take a look I’m sure you’ll agree.
Sorry to hear about your tech issues. I’ve been there and it’s not fun.

There are so many of those, “Why…” photographs, that I had to narrow down the selection. So, I ended up with this one.
