It was pretty touch-and-go for GoPro there for a little while a couple of years ago.
One of the most well-known names in the action camera business, GoPro started to falter under the intense pressures of smartphone camera competition that has increasingly added accessories that bring action camera-lite capabilities to many of the most popular headsets out there.
Still, though, GoPro has proven there’s a huge, viable market for people that want durable, high-quality products and the Hero10 Black doesn’t stray from that tradition.
Of course, you’ll probably want to know the specs. We’ve got a 2.27″ Diagonal touch screen with a GP2 processor, USB-C port, storage via microSD with at least V30 or UHS-3 Rating, 3 microphones, and 2 LEDs measuring 2.79 x 2.16 x 1.32″ and weighing 5.39 oz.
The camera is capable of 23MP photos with supported modes including Burst Mode, LiveBurst, Looping, Time Lapse Photo/Video, TimeWarp Video, Night Lapse Photo/Video, Slo-Mo, Short Clips, and Protune. Burst can take up to 25 photos in one second with time lapse in 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60-second intervals or 2, 5, 30, 60-minute intervals. The Hero10 Black is available now and comes in at $USD 499 on Adorama though PetaPixel is reporting that the unit will only set you back $USD 399 if purchased along with a one-year GoPro subscription.
