Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational corporation that specialises in optics, imaging and other industrial and electronic equipment. It is well known for its cameras, lenses and printers.
Canon’s precision optical instruments laboratory in Japan date back to 1933. During its early years, it did not have facilities to manufacture its own optical glasses for its lenses and so its early cameras used lenses that incorporated Nikkor lenses.
Canon introduced its nigh end SLRs and FD lenses in 1971 and their first inkjet printer in 1985. Currently canon has a huge range of digital cameras, lenses, the best inkjet printers and many other electronic equipment.
