Raising your skill level as a photographer isn\u2019t dependent on concentrating on one specific area nor is it something that will occur quickly. <\/span><\/p>\n In order to experience demonstrable growth, you must take a holistic approach to your creative development and give yourself time to incorporate and fully adapt to your expanding skill set.<\/span><\/p>\n But you\u2019ve got to start somewhere, right?<\/span><\/p>\n The following 8 tips serve as a foundation to start building your skills and improving<\/a> in both technical and creative<\/a> areas. <\/span><\/p>\n My initial compulsion is to say, without exception, shoot every day. The rationale is simple: the more you do it, the better you\u2019ll get. You\u2019ll train your eye, learn your camera, <\/span>gain a better understanding of metering and exposure. These are all necessary things that should be practised with regularity.<\/span><\/p>\n However, a day or two without your camera isn\u2019t so bad. If for any reason you aren\u2019t compelled to pick up your camera, that\u2019s ok. Don\u2019t force it. Even if you aren\u2019t actively photographing you can still practice what is arguably a photographer\u2019s most valuable skill \u2014 observation.<\/span><\/p>\n And when you reunite with your camera you will do so with renewed inspiration<\/a> and vitality.<\/span><\/p>\n1.
