        Hi all,
My passion, my specialism in digital photography is Landscape. I take images every day and process my images in Adobe Raw, Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom. I have the use of four cameras, Canon 5D3, and the three Sigma Merrill cameras. I have a number of canon prime lens’s.
I retired fifteen years ago which will give you some idea as to my age, albeit that I was 55 years old when I said goodbye to my employer. My wife retired in the same year and we have been playing ever since.
I have no formal training in art or photography and have taught myself all I know. I have a small library on the subject of photography and read and constantly push my skill level every day. Just love the internet. I used to take at least 100 meaningful images a day, but now I have slowed down and take great care to ensure each image is as perfect as I can make them and still improving.
My real photography did not start until digital came along, this is a medium that really works for me whereas film never did.
I don’t take grand landscape images of mountain ranges or large panoramas. I focus on the everyday subjects that are all about us and have a special affinity for trees.
I live in Lancashire, UK at Latitude 52 north which means I have a most interesting light over the year. Four distinct seasons and the Sun that dips very low in winter to high in midsummer.
I look forward to sharing our common interest with you all.
        Bryant.

Shake hands, Bryant. It’s probable we share some DNA. I’m not good at math, but I think I’m more than a decade your superior in age . . . so whether you think you need advice or not, I may give it. I like all photography from landscapes to Macro bugs, little wild flowers, and even fungus (I’m low born, not proud). Trees are one of my special niches, especially in winter when the leaves are shed and I can see the real structure and backbone of them and deeper into the forest. I have a peculiar affinity for ‘dead trees’. One long forgotten entomologist (I’m one of those … especially the ‘forgotten part) once posted a poem of how a dead tree out his window represented his life’s several ventures, abandoned some, failures, and finally to the two great lasting pursuits in the crown; entomology and art. I look forward to your posts. Please pause to picture an occasional little bug that crosses your path. In probability, it will be here when you and I are extinct. I’m with you in common interest. Call me Bugz. I live in Alabama.

            Hi Bugz,
Good to hear from you. Alabama, the closest my wife and I came to your State was when we drove the Appalachian Mountain trail, from south to north in spring time. Beautiful, beautiful scenery. If you want more details of my work and to learn more about me, then cross over to Flickr and view my images there under my name bryant_pound. I have not used Flickr in a long time as I found it not to my liking. However, now I’m using this site I can use Flickr for finer details of the images shown on Light Stalking.

If your ancestors came from welsh, Wales then we are closer than you imagine.

My skill level is improving, albeit slowly, and I am feeling far more confident in my work now and have the confidence to discuss images more openly. I like the layout and people on this site as they are more candid and garrulous than other sites I have visited.

Thank you so much for the welcome and look forward to future contacts. “Alabama” will always be on my mind.

            Bryant
