Retiring at age 70, I’ve decided it’s time to get back to photography here in Nashville, TN. Back in high school days, 50 years ago, I was the school yearbook photographer and used my Dad’s press camera, with pull out bellows and flashbulbs you had to insert before each photo. I combed the sidelines of our football games making negatives of the local heroes and then developing them at home in our darkroom.
I don’t remember a specific image, but my Dad was a great photographer and I just followed his lead. I also read lots of National Geographic and Life magazines. I was always fascinated with the pictures of wild exotic places thousands of miles away from our little county seat town in north central Texas.
