The oldest lighthouse on the West Coast of Canada comes into focus in today's blog post here at The Hollow. The Fisgard Lighthouse was commissioned and built before Canada even became a country, and over the years it has tirelessly served as a beacon of safety and hope for travelers making their way into the Victoria harbour. The stories behind the lighthouse are just as interesting as the facility itself, and Parks Canada maintains it in perfect fashion. Today the house portion is two stories of displays, some interactive, that allows the visitor to become completely immersed in the story and certain to leave you wanting more.

Please feel free to visit our blog “A Beacon Through The Fog” for the story behind the photos.

Great shots of a favourite local landmark. Well done Toad. Nice processing, especially like that interior shot.

Lighthouses are great subjects…this one looks wonderful…especially through your lens. Love the history lesson too, as always. 🙂
