In case you missed it, the planet Venus passed in front of the sun this week – a very rare occurrence (when you live on earth) and one that won't be replicated for more than another century. The event meant every astrophotographer worth their salt was out in force. This collection is NASA heavy (they have the best toys for this type of thing!), but check out a few of the amazing shots at the end of the collection too! And if you were lucky enough to shoot the event yourself, then share your shots in the comments!

Lovely collection. It was very cloudy here in most parts of India but I got a glimpse at sunrise. Here is what I ended up with https://tariquesani.net/blog/2012/06/06/transit-at-sunrise/

Incredible, intense imagery, and yet sublime.
Impressively! )))
Here is a few I shot while in Omaha, Nebraska. https://clarkcrenshaw.blogspot.com/2012/06/few-extra-days-in-omaha.html
These are beautiful and really put planetary size in relation to the sun into perspective.
Amazing Pics…I am yet to learn how to take such beautiful astro shots.
It was truly an amazing day to actually see this in person! My husband got the telescope set up in the back yard and when I arrived home from work, I just had to start clicking away.https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8130/8755496661_848336e755_m.jpg
