Holga is a medium format camera designed by Lee Ting-Mo in 1982, in Hong Kong. It was initially available with black and white film and the intention was to provide an inexpensive camera to the working class people to capture portraits and events.
The camera itself is a low cost build and the resulting images display vignetting, blur, light leaks and other distortions. The holga look was quite famous among even serious photographers and they began using it for their surrealistic rendering of images.
Most Holga cameras come with a plastic lens, with a focal length of 60mm and use the zone focus system resulting in soft images in general.
