A quick trip into the back garden often throws up a slew of photographic opportunities. For people who are lucky enough to have a few dragonflies around, the colourful creatures are a great subject. Enjoy this collection and don't forget to check out our own tutorial on how to photograph dragonflies.

Some super catches.
Some amazing images! We haven’t had many around here this year.
Amazing! Here’s my contribution: https://www.flickr.com/search/?w=15455230@N00&q=dragonfly
Wow a dragon fly eye candy!!!! What amazing sharpness you managed to achieve – without a Macro lens.
By comparison, I have two of Canon’s Macro lenses (100mm and 180mm) plus a Canon 7D and all the other right tools: Gitzo Tripods, ball heads, a manual focussing railing, etc – and I have never got anything as clear as you have managed here. I guess it is the singer not the song — is that not the expression?
Congratulations!
Nizar
thank you
OUTSTANDING dragonfly work! Macro lens is on my wish list, but I was pretty proud of recent dragonfly shots of my own (not having had much previous luck with them!)
Gonna have to use a link again… the “Copy Image Location” bit doesn’t work for me for some reason.
Handheld, Canon EOS 50-D (no macro lens… just focal length 135mm, f 5.6, ISO 160 1/200 sec. 0 step. They don’t call me “tough-way” for no reason! LOL)

This is a wonderful collection of some incredible shots!
I love watching and photographing dragonflies. These are great shots, indeed. I lucked into finding a darner resting on the side of my house on a cool summer day and managed to get this shot.
