Burning Man is the annual festival of “radical self-expression” where 50,000 revelers gather in the Nevada desert for a week of art, anarchy, and community. Not for the faint of heart, Burning Man is a photographer's dream — a surreal landscape populated by outlandish beings and incredible machines, all throbbing to a techno beat under the blistering desert sun. Here photographer Phil Steele shares 15 of his favorites from nearly a decade of documenting this American counter-culture phenomenon.

Nice shots!
Really nice work in a place that can destroy your gear if you let it 🙂
I’ve been photographing that thing in the desert since 1999. Beautiful place to photograph. You can find my galleries here: and I have some tips on keeping your camera gear clean at Burning Man on my blog.
Haha it looks like a surreal trip in theatrical mirror-land.
Awesome shots, dont think you can get more unique than that!
I love these images, what a great place to be to capture images such as this. Love it.
