Photo Of The Week
One thing I've always been impressed with this week's photo of the week winner, Patrick, is how incredibly consistent he is with producing both quality ideas and wonderful outcomes for his images. The man is a machine. This last week has been no different and it seemed like our weekly photography judge Federico, agrees with this week's winning entry going to Patrick.
In Federico's words, “Let’s start this set with a clean perspective enhanced by the of use of composition. Despite the squared framing produced by the intertwine of just a few horizontal and vertical lines, the scene feels highly dynamic thanks to the implied line in front of the subject; not to mention the organic feeling the graffiti delivers to the whole moment.”

The Monthly Photography Contest: The Dynamics Of Color
The monthly photography contest has got a few very interesting entrants already, but I think people might be saving up their entries for closer to the final date, which is only a week away. There are some strong photos there, but honestly I still think this one is wide open to win. If you're interested in making an entry, then check out the requirements here. First prize is $100!

Moments Through a Dirty Windshield Part II – An ongoing series by one of our regular members, Retired Grunt, which again shows the power of.. showing up regularly, these images are all black and white, and basically the theme is shots that are taken from the car during his travels. This has led to a fascinating collection of photos that he has been posting for 38 weeks now. They're very Americana focused. and they are probably one of the most interesting ongoing projects that has been on this site for quite a while. go over and check them out because they are well worth looking at.
High Wind Photos – A couple of great photos from Robert Apple with this cracker bellow. Also this is a great theme for photographs, so don't sleep on it.
Observation – Longtime member, Patrick has been posting photos of this dog for quite a while and honestly I've grown attached to seeing this little guy come across my feed. Very cute, but also a fantastic subject for a photographer
Intentional Camera Movement – This was another thread by Patrick that brings up a topic that often brings in a lot of enthusiastic replies, and I think Patrick has really nailed a few of the shots in here to get it kicked off these images below remind me of some of the best work of David Chesterfield, who was a longtime forum member before he passed away.
Trees – I don't think this one started out as a throwdown, but it's become quite a popular thread with a lot of people submitting their own photos of trees. I think Larry Shone, who started it kind of stumbled onto an extremely popular topic.
Eclipse – It's always great to see some of our old long-standing members return to the forum and it's fantastic to see Astaroth back! And he bought the goods with the latest solar eclipse giving him a fantastic opportunity to show off his skills
