Here’s What Our Wonderful Community Has Been Photographing

Hi there fellow Light Stalkers, welcome to your weekly wrap-up, filled with beautiful photographs for you to enjoy!

Today we are bringing you everything that you may have missed from last week including some beautiful photographs from Tersha's amazingly thought-provoking latest challenge – Odd Numbers

Photo Of The Week – September 23th, 2019

Alone At Night – Photo by Lenny Wollitz

This week our Guest Judge for the POTW was Charmaine Joubert. Here is what Charmaine had to say about her stunning choice:

There were some interesting photos on Light Stalking this past week, made up of different styles and genres.

One photo captured my attention as soon as I saw it posted in The Shark Tank and that was “alone at night” by Lenny Wolitz.

All the elements in the photo work so well together to convey a strong, interesting and emotional image. Well done to the author for seeing and capturing the image under such difficult lighting conditions.

As usual, our judges usually need a runner up and Charmaine chose a wonderful shot

I chose this image, because I just love the textures, colours and impact.

Thanks so much to Charmaine for stepping in and a big thank you to Lenny for posting such an extraordinary photo

Challenge – #452 Odd Numbers

Here are just some of the wonderful shots from our 452nd Challenge on Odd Numbers! Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Balanced and rhythmic, and the post-production gives it a groovy feel. It almost feels like Hotel California!

This find deserves some recognition, it is quite hard to capture a still insect, and having 5 dragonflies at such formation is really impressive.

You simply can't go wrong with flowers when illustrating the power of odd numbers.

Just a nice reminder that 1 is also an odd number. Nice composition by the way.

The nice thing about these three orbs of light is that they are all the same size, therefore a perfect balance is achieved even when they are far away from each other.

“Even a flush is odd”, the title makes this shot such a nice visual piece.

Not only these three geese are in an odd numbered group, but they are also within the rule of thirds zone, making it a very pleasing composition.

Very suggestive image indeed…

No only the geese flying over the golden sky are in a pleasing odd numbered formation, but also the man in the canoe is placed in such a balanced way within the frame. Also the three colored palette is an odd numbered by itself too. Beautiful and compelling composition indeed.

Here Are Some Conversations You May Have Missed

Graham stumbled into a mob (yes apparently this is the collective noun for Kangaroos) of about 30 kangaroos the other day, he got close enough to get these great shots.

He also shared these lovely piggies!

Chris always shares some compelling photos and videos that get us thinking about the world we are living in today. Here he shares a photograph that really express her feelings of being drowned in despair

Patrick shared this one, nothing more to say!

David went loon under the moon at the cemetery! Here is my favorite one, but you can look at the complete series here.

And Petr Nowak opened up the debate on creativity, so this is one to come back to to see what people have to say!

Check Out The Shark Tank

Our beloved Shark Tank is pretty sweet. Here you'll get your work critiqued by plenty of well intentioned people, and you'll be able to provide thoughtful critique as well. Here are some great photographs shared last week on the Tank:

Don't be shy, critique is given to photographs and not photographers, so don't be afraid and share.

That's it for another week. A very big thank you to all the members who make Light Stalking such a special place.

Don't skip participating in the newest Weekend Photography Challenge published by Tersha – this one is titled Water/Liquids! Please remember to join our friendly photography community if you haven't done already!

Today We Leave You With – 5 Birdies On A Stick

The insanely talented Charmaine Joubert posted this to the Odd Numbers Weekend Photography Challenge, and Pat loved it so much she posted it to members picks
