It's been another fantastic week for the Light Stalking photography community and we even got our new monthly challenge underway, which we will talk about below.
We should start off with the photo of the week, which was an absolute cracker from Dianne (@tersha) has been posting a string of very stylized flowers that are unmistakably in her style. She likes to experiment with color and unusual lens combinations to get images that you can tell immediately off from her collection if you have been following the forums. We're up to weekly photography challenge number 812, and this week the theme is emotional palettes, which lets us explore how we approach color in photography.
As usual, our members have really stepped up with their submissions according to the theme and here are a few of my favourite submissions so far.
Throwdown – “something yellow” – this was such a great idea for a throwdown from one of our newer members Larry Shone, and the results have been quite impressive. It's not something I would have come up with myself, but I can't deny the creativity of our members who have submitted stuff to this photography throwdown.
As you might know, it's part of the forum culture to allow members to throw down on any particular theme or topic that they're interested in, and then other members will try to add images that fit that theme or topic just to see what we all come up with, and this one has been a fantastic example of that. Here are a few of the images that people have come up with.
Moments through a dirty windshield. Some of our members have taken to posting regular threads with the continuing theme of their own work, and it's something I'm really getting into. This is a perfect example from our member, “Retired Grunt” who started a topic thread like this called moments through a dirty windshield where he posts a lot of his travel images oftentimes shot from his car. It's such a fascinating way to approach themed photography work, and I'm sure you agree after scrolling through this thread that it's something really worthwhile.

Black and white, it's alright. One of our members, Patrick, has done several of these theme threads, which is a very welcome addition to the forum. This is one of his more recent thread starters that you should go and take a look at, and don't forget to leave a comment over there and join in the conversation.

It’s A Bug’s Life in the Backyard – Stephanie Markham started a wonderful thread on macro photography in her backyard, which is well worth a visit if you love macro.
