Distant Tango and Space Between Us!

Welcome to the Light Stalking weekly community update!

Groping for something tangible, we found only individuals and between them in a way nothing but empty spaceGeorg Simmel

Not so long ago, while crawling at the library's recently vacuumed carpet floor, I stumbled with a somewhat familiar name. Picked up the book; and skim-and-scanned it a bit. After a while and beyond the aged scent of the crispy text, the aforementioned quote winked at me. Fast-forward to this day, I use that beautiful string to mark a historic milestone in my class.

In a way, it talks about our desire for meaningful connections on the social realm. However, it also offers some peace of mind to our seek for purpose on the metaphysical plane. In practical terms, we are the most tangible form of intelligence we're ever gonna know. Therefore, we should devote more of our time to nurturing those scarce − yet precious − social links surrounding our everyday lives.

I was given something wonderful.

Something that changed me.

A vision of the universe that made it

overwhelmingly clear just how tiny

and insignificant — and at the same

time how rare and precious we all

are. A vision… that tells us we

belong to something greater than

ourselves… that we're not — that

none of us — is alone.Eleanor Arraway

Between desolation and company, resides the sweet spot required by our species to keep things private and close by. For this week, Tersha asked for images capable of speaking loud and clear about our unique human condition. The space between ourselves and the rest is capable of compressing and stretching like a rubber band. Some people should be kept away, and some others should stay proximate to us; and there's nothing bad about doing so.

Photo of the Week

Elegant, subtle and highly precise indeed. This image was posted in the weekly challenge, and it grabbed my attention from the very moment I scrolled down to it. In my opinion, it was a wise decision to develop this spectacular glimpse in a monochrome fashion. Oh, and this might just be a hardcoded memory in my mind, but I can easily hear a tenacious tango while contemplating this shot.
