Industrial Remnants, Visual Instinct and Handheld Precision!

Welcome to the weekly Light Stalking community wrap up!

Tersha's latest photography request reminded me of a deep experience I had with photography more than a decade ago…  I met photography in 2009, and around 2012 my first working experience presented itself to me. Basically, I was a salesman for hydraulic parts. The job allowed me to visit a lot of interesting corners of my country and my office hours were scarce. However, something was bugging me and I started using my camera for conceptual and documentary purposes.

Here, I share some images from that time in which photography saved me from an existential struggle. A couple of weeks ago, I published on my personal blog something about photography & depression; and now I see that photography really saved me back then.

Industry can be defined as a milestone of human existence, but it has to globally develop towards a purely environmental approach; before it is too late. Today, we bring a fine selection of the bold and striking photographs that were shared in the forum. Remember, if you feel like adding to this visual concept, you can share your images in the following threads.

Photo of the Week

The simplicity behind this statement is overwhelming to say the least; absolute care for tones and composition! This one was shared in the aforementioned post. The tricky thing about it, is the uncanny sense of knowing where to expect something like this; despite giving so little information.

A Highlight on the Latest Activity at our Community

Robert reminded us of how prone we humans are to visual language:

There are places in this world that are Time Portals, one such in a remote Utah canyon where they Stare Back from the other side , 4000 years in the past.

beth took her camera to work at the state fair. She had not much to shoot in the command post, but she grabbed a few eerily deserted shots like this one below; which by the way, was shot handheld at 1/20s… impressive don't you think?
