Artificial intelligence is everywhere and, whether that’s a good thing or not, it looks like there is no turning back at this point.

One area that has shown surprising competitive fervor, however, is the selfie market or, to be more precise, what would have been called headshots in a professional setting.

Whether using a bespoke app or other AI interface, selfies and headshots are apparently the growth market in this area with multiple options out there. But few promise what Artisse does and that is a guarantee of a “perfect” selfie, every single time.

Inspired by the seemingly endless sea of “perfect” selfies on Instagram, Artisse’s founder wanted to make an AI capable of delivering the same kind of thing but to everyone.

In short, Artisse promises that, with a little bit of training, it can help you generate shots worth of an Instagram influencer (if that’s your kind of thing).

“But to be able to create these types of photos, you need to be privileged or to be able to afford it, a lot of patience and time, or a very high level of expertise… With the arrival of AI, our goal is to make perfect personal photography accessible to everyone, no matter your background situation, or experience level. Everyone should be able to create perfect photos of themselves,” founder William Wu explains to TechCrunch.

TechCrunch points out that Artisse does take some time to train itself on your photos. And while 40 minutes is certainly not instant, Wu promises the end results are higher quality and more dynamic than some of the offerings from competitors.
