Black and white photography is classic, drawing the viewer in immediately and it is still one of the most popular genre even in the days of digital colour photography. Black and white photos speak in terms of tonal range, depth, shapes, patterns, textures, etc., and even though the colour is absent, it can help with creating dramatic and compelling images.

Black and white photography works great for all genre of photography, but not many photographers create black and white flower photographs. When shooting for black and white photos, do not photograph them in black and white. Shoot raw for flexible post processing and then convert images to black and white later.
