There’s little doubt that AI is going to be huge in the world of media in the future if it isn’t already somewhat outsized in the current conversation.

Some people think it is all hype, others think it is going to displace everything we know and love, and then a few people are looking at it from a practical business perspective.
One of those happens to be Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang who believes that the demand for generative AI will also push demand higher for Nvidia’s core products, Reuters reports.
Does it make sense? From one standpoint, it does, and that is when you take into account commercial photography and videography. Once AI gets to a certain level, there’s little doubt it is going to be used extensively for marketing purposes due to the ability to scale efficiently given the cost.
And that means that a lot of people who formerly had jobs in this area won’t have them anymore. This is a concern not just for the industry, but also companies like Adobe who worry that AI might actually make the company’s customers themselves obsolete.
That’s not to mention the expansion of these sophisticated tasks to everything from desktops and tablets to smartphones and beyond. With so many options for generating media content, it’s only a matter of time before the traditional mechanisms are impacted.
What remains to be seen is whether the public is accepting of artificially generated material. So far, the jury is out on that and current attitudes could reflect a cultural paradigm more than anything else.
