25 Incredible Photos Of Architectural Structures Shot At Night

Architecture photography in general is not pursued by many photographers. Some find it boring and some others find it to be a very challenging genre. It is quite difficult to come up with an architectural image that is compelling and visually appealing, but if you try and practice, this genre is exciting and rewarding.

If you are already photographing architectural structures during the day, than you should try night time architecture photography. Night time architecture photos reveal depth, details and patterns in ways that are usually not quite evident during the day (Of course the daytime images reveal details that the night time cannot). The buildings are illuminated in ways that reveal their features and characters.

Here are some night time architectural images to inspire or motivate you to capture some the next time you are outside with your camera during the night time.

When photographing anything, it is important to pay attention to composition. When composing an image, you can use the elements in the frame to support the main subject, use light creatively to compose your images, use contrasting colours for effective composition and so on. Architectural images work well when the composition is strong – lines, frames, geometry, juxtaposition, patterns, and many more guidelines can be used. If you are struggling to understand composition and implement it in your photography, we recommend you to check out this eBook, “Understanding Composition” by Photzy that will teach you the fundamentals of composition for incredible photography.
