It is the New Year and it is a time when there are stunning fireworks everywhere around the world. You may have watched the fireworks and even captured some amazing shots, but if not, here are some brilliant photos of fireworks that will inspire you to master the art of long exposure photography at night.
When capturing photos at night, we have to rely on artificial lights from the city or town – this could be the lights from buildings, street lamps, shops, etc., or natural light from the moon if it is more than 50 or 60% illuminated. There are no rules in photography, only guidelines – but, there are times when we photographers may need a quick reference or a setting to capture something on the field. For example, capturing a landscape, photograph the moon, starting to photograph the night sky, especially the milky way, or setting out in street photography.

Most people think that winter photography is all about photographing in the snow or just photographing the snow, but that’s not true. There are many great elements outdoors that can be photographed in the winter season, including landscapes, architecture, wildlife and even some indoor still life photography. Do not forget to look closer for amazing and interesting macro shots.
Long exposure photography helps to create artistic images. When you increase the exposure time and capture the movements in the scene, it makes the image look otherworldly or surreal. When capturing long exposures, you cannot just lengthen the shutter speed but need to take care of the light in the frame, consider the exposure triangle and make adjustments accordingly.
